Welcome to Sweetwater Bay Montessori.
Sweetwater Bay Montessori educates children from ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age. We are located in Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert, Arizona
We are now introducing our Infant Room. Offering a "Montessori Environment" for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months. Only two spots available with flexible hours.
SBM is deeply commited to Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy. We support this method with an experienced American Montessori Society certified teacher. Our classroom is complete with beautiful materials and our outdoor environment has a beautiful garden.
Children are given freedom with responsibility from the day they arrive. Students begin to form lifelong habits to hep them concentrate, organize and find personal satisfaction in their work.
Respect for others is a powerful foundation for life and is a fundamental part of Montessori philosophy. More than good manners are expected as we offer children hands-on oportunities to become involved citizens in their classrooms, in the natural environment and beyond.
Children will discover that "work" is not drudgery, but a satisfying, often joyous pursuit. Montessori work can mean practicing a skill, acquiring knowledge, creating artwork, or taking care of practical needs. With teacher guidance, the children learn to make appropriate choices for their day's work. Gradually, the work increases their powers of concentration, sharpens their attention to detail, and establishes orderly working habits.
Meet Our Director
Carolyn has received her American Montessori Society Certification for 2 1/2 to 6 year olds. She has been teaching at Arizona Montessori Schools since 2005.

3. To help them develop kindness, courtesy, and self-discipline that will allow them to become capable adults.
4. To help your child learn how to observe, question, and explore ideas independently.

Dr.Maria Montessori first became interested in education while caring for mentally challenged children in a psychiatric clinic in Rome. Her innovative practices—including a combination of sensory-rich environments and hands-on experiential techniques—soon elicited positive learning behaviors from children previously left behind by society.
